Accounting Advisory Council

The mission of the UAH Accounting Advisory Council is to enhance UAH educational, service, and research programs in accounting and related disciplines.  The Council engages in activities to support the University in making these programs the finest possible with current constraints and making them responsive to the needs of the business community, especially the business community in northern Alabama.  Council members decide on specific activities that best meet the mission of the Council.  Possible activities include:

  • Advice for curriculum development, service activities, and research.

  • Assistance in obtaining speakers for classes and student organizations.

  • Assistance in developing meaningful field trips.

  • Assessment of the current UAH accounting programs and providing whatever recommendations the Council deems appropriate to the UAH Accounting Chair.

  • Encouraging financial and other support for the recruitment and retention of exceptional students, the acquisition of equipment and software, and faculty development and research.

  • Facilitating student coops and faculty internships.

  • Serving as a sounding board for ideas developed by the Chair and other faculty.
