OUR VALUE

Quality Business Programs

We are dedicated to providing our students with a business education of highest quality and preparing them with superior application and team development skills. We stress success through teamwork among students, faculty and staff. We introduce students to the team concept through the teams in which students work on class projects and through the cooperative approach the faculty and staff take to accomplish the many tasks at hand.

Accreditation

Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business

The College of Business Administration is the only school in North Alabama accredited by the prestigious AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.

Organized in 1916, AACSB is the premier accrediting agency for bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs in business administration and accounting. AACSB supports and encourages excellence in management education worldwide.

To achieve accreditation, business programs must satisfy the expectations of a wide range of quality standards relating to strategic management of resources, interactions of faculty and students in the educational process, and achievement of learning goals in degree programs. Less than 25% of all business schools in the U.S. have received this accreditation.

Faculty

The Faculty members in the College are world-class scholars who are known for their teaching acumen and commitment to students. We have published hundreds of path-breaking research articles in professional and academic journals that have earned us the respect of peer institutions. Many of our faculty have served as officers of both national and international professional organizations.

All of our classes are taught by professors and business professionals. We have no graduate students teaching classes in our College.

Modern Facilities

The business building is one of the newest on campus, with state-of the art computer labs, team rooms, and comfortable study areas and classrooms. Three computer labs and dedicated computer classrooms have all the latest equipment and software. We also have a special lab just for MIS projects.

Small Class Size

There are no big lecture halls in the business school and our students are not just names in our grade book. With an average class size of 23, we get a chance to know you and help you succeed on an individual basis.

Graduates' Careers

Many of our business students become entrepreneurs, starting their own companies in a variety of high-tech fields. We are developing a network of angles and venture capitalists to help provide the financing.

We place our graduates in some of the most prestigious companies in the world including IBM, Boeing, Lockheed, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Adtran, Avocent, and Ford Motor Company.

IBM   Boeing   Ford   PriceWaterhouseCoopers   Adtran

Nearly half of our upper classmen participate in our paid internship program, working part-time in a local enterprise. This unique opportunity gives our students real-world experience, contacts in the business community, and an advantage in the job market.
