ABOUT THE COLLEGE

Welcome to the Business school at UAHuntsville. We have a stellar reputation of providing high-quality business programs to our students and for producing superior graduates for employers.

This reputation is built on years of effort and success. For example: We are continuously ranked in the top 10% of all business schools in the United States by the U.S. News and World Report's "America's Best Colleges."

The Faculty members in the College are world-class scholars who are known for their teaching acumen and commitment to students. We have published hundreds of path-breaking research articles in professional and academic journals that have earned us the respect of our peer institutions. Many of our faculty have served as officers of both national and international professional organizations.

Our research faculty and staff members provide business solutions to companies and government entities around the globe.

We emphasize a connection between faculty and students. Our average class size is less than 25 students and all of our classes are taught by professors and business professionals. We have no graduate students teaching classes in our College.

We place our graduates in some of the most prestigious companies in the world including IBM, Boeing, Lockheed, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Adtran, Avocent, and Ford Motor Company.

Many of our business students become entrepreneurs, starting their own companies in a variety of high-tech fields. We are developing a network of angles and venture capitalists to help provide that all important financial seed-money.

Nearly half of our upper classmen participate in our paid internship program, working part-time in a local enterprise. This unique opportunity gives our students real-world experience, contacts in the business community, and an advantage in the job market.

It is not surprising that we attract the best students in the state (we have the highest average ACT score of any public university in Alabama) and that employers come first to UAH when they are looking for new business graduates.
